Karachites left without power as high tension line trips

K-Electric spokesperson claims electricity restored in the city

Several areas of Karachi witnessed a major power breakdown on Saturday after a high-tension transmission line tripped, affecting the power supply to metropolis.

According to a statement from the K Electric spokesperson, the technical issue causing the high-tension line to trip has been successfully resolved, and electricity has been restored.

As per the details garnered, power supply to several areas was suspended after more than 400 grid stations tripped due to the tripping in the transmission line. Due to this electricity supply was suspended in the areas of Orangi Town, Walika, North Karachi, Shadman, Baldia Town, North Nazimabad, Gulistan Johar, Gadap Grid, Memon Goth, and Malir.

According to the spokesperson of the K-Electric, electricity has been restored in the city after removing the technical fault in the high tension line.
