Right before the finalization of the Pakistan World Cup 2023 squad, former captain Mohammad Hafeez on Thursday resigned from the technical committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

The former captain was an honorary member of the committee, which was formed in August 2023 to advise the PCB on cricketing matters.

Mohammad Hafeez was appointed to the PCB technical committee on August 2 and his tenure lasted 51 days.

In a statement, the ex-cricketer thanked PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf for giving him this opportunity. He showed his availability to the cricket board head in the future for ‘honest suggestions’.

Hafeez’s resignation comes at a time when the management is apparently finding it difficult to finalize the team after it was knocked out of the Asia Cup 2023 following back-to-back losses against India and Sri Lanka in the Super 4 stage of the tournament.
