Pakistan Peoples Party has issued a show cause notice to Latif Khosa over defending the head of another political party without the consent of his own party’s leadership.
The notice, issued by PPP’s Secretary General Nayyer Hussain Bokhari, reminds Khosa that he is a member of the party’s Central Executive Committee but has been ‘defending/pleading/representing’ the head of another political party, presumably a reference to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan.
The notice mentions that Khosa defended the political leader in corruption cases ‘in which he has been convicted’. The notice is based on a speech Khosa made in a lawyer’s convention in Islamabad on Thursday.
The notice asked Khosa to explain why action should not be taken against him and told him to submit a response within seven days.
