Major attack averted after police find explosive-laden rickshaw

A major terrorist attack was averted when police busted a loader rickshaw laden with explosives in Khyber.

Khyber’s DPO Saleem Abbas said that police stopped the rickshaw at Nala checkpost which falls in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bara.

A search of the vehicle revealed that explosives were hidden beneath the grass that was piled up in the loader. The bombs were immediately defused.

Police said that the explosives were intended for a suicide attack and could have led to a major incident.

The DPO said that the rickshaw and the attacker driving it were arrested and handed over to Frontier Corps, where investigations are underway.
